Written by Richard Gibson That is the news from the local vet's office. I'd comment about the lack of clarity around the concept of Father's Day, if it wasn't just so damn absurd. Saturday (yesterday) we went to our rental house on Carr street. We had the opportunity to play Pharonic Egyptian laborer by moving the 12 foot x 8 foot storage building from one part of the yard to another. We jacked it up, and put boards underneather, and short lengths of 2" PVC pipe underneath it all. When the balance was right, I was able to slide it along at a good clip. When the balance was off, or the pipes slipped from their proper position, then things became dicey. We also got to chainsaw the crap out of a nasty shrubish tree, leaving it a bare naked root, and we knocked concrete block down from the crumbling retaining wall. Concrete block is a strange material. Very strong against some forces, but even the well set blocks would pop loose with a little opposing pressure from my four foot wrecking bar.
