Sunday 5/6/2001My step niece has a birthday party, and we get to visit Tom Yoder, Marisa, and Tom's parent's (with pictures). See the pictures!

The day started off great, and with few annoyances, it stayed great! Our kids are absolute marvels, wonderful and exasperating and loving and happy and grumpy and each one their own person, even when we might want them to be compliant and just do what we ask!

While Heather was in Colorado last weekend, having fun and selling our rental house, Robbie and Jennifer gave her the soundtrack of Oh Brother Where Art Thou, and said it was a must see.

So last night we were able to bundle the littles off to Parent's night out, and the three 'adults' in the family went to see.

We loved it, and have been listening to the sound track ever since. Finally this afternoon, Molly demanded that we take it out of the CD Player in the car, because 'enough is enough!'

I guess that Molly was not quite as enamoured of it all as were the two 'actual' adults! But that is the soundtrack of the day!

So the morning was fun, baths and fun times, and the challenge of molding young minds, without too far corrupting their sense of self with arbitrary rules and what not.

'No Maddy, that dress is too big'

'But Mommy, I'm four!'

'And I'm 38, so what!'

Molly took Maddy to Rite Aid for an ice cream, and then she took Spencer to buy a squirt gun and a bouncy ball.

And then a bit later, we heard Maddy talking to Spencer... "hey spency, I have thing that you can squirt at! It's in my room, come on!"

And then the day _really_ got under way! The birthday party was great fun, and time with the Yoder's is always a great treat, but I can't really write more on the subject unless I write a WHOLE LOT, too great are my feelings for that whole clan, and what all of them mean to me, and to Heather.
