My current model is to create an extended html model-have my own tags that are parsed by 
a perl script.

Why?  To seperate code from layout...code from html/perl from html.

What gets embedded in what?

And hell...should I just bag it all and fall to the dark side of CF?

I want to write html with embedded snippets like this:

or

showlast, showrecent, ?  to show the most recent comments...

or

The idea is to modularize the code 

Using DBD::CSV as the 'database'

I installed DBD::CSV on Icarus.  I had to do the following:

Add/Edit User

-Form with user info

-Assign a user id

-enter into users database/file

-create users directory
-?create users about.html file


CreateAbout

Take a user ID

Walk all appropriate files

Create/recreate file journals/users/$userid/about.html from about template and user info.

An about page should look like...?  See template/aboutsample.html

Stories are html fragments that can live within a <td></td>

Now:
makesite.pl - run from command line.
It reads files in template directory, and then rebuilds 'all' 
the 'substitution' files...
